Lombok, Bali’s neighbour to the east, has seen a boom in international tourism in recent years, and a new resort seems to appear every day. Many travellers head straight for Lomboks most famous ‘Gilis’ (islands) – Air, Meno and Trawangan. But Lombok has so much more to offer, and there are still large areas of unspoilt coastline, turquoise lagoons and fine white sand beaches to discover.
On the East of the island you’ll find Jeeva Beloam Beach Camp. Much more than camping, or even glamping, this beautiful reosrt offers barefoot luxury at its best. Bungalows made of wood and bamboo line the stunning beach, and there are plenty of facilitioes and activities to keep you (and the kids) busy. It’s a full-board deal so you’re locked into eating the food, but nobody who wrote a review of this place was complaining! With plenty of variety, and plenty of local specialities on the menu, you’ll never get bored. There are water activities, snorkeling trips, trips to see waterfalls and experience the culture of the local Sasak people.
The thing that people enjoyed most was the beach itself – consistently described as one of the most beautiful they have ever seen. We can’t wait to check it out in person!
Lombok is growing in recognition from international travellers looking for a beach paradise, and places like this are really going to put this oft-overlooked island in the sun back on the map.
They have a website if you’d like to learn more about their rooms, the activities, and their ‘luxury glamping’ philosophy.
